Layers of the Earth
The Earth is composed of several layers, each with its own unique characteristics and properties. These layers are:

Crust
- The outermost layer of the Earth, the crust is relatively thin compared to the other layers.
- It is divided into two types: continental crust, which is thicker and less dense, and oceanic crust, which is thinner and more dense.

Mantle
- Beneath the crust lies the mantle, which is a thick layer of rock that extends all the way down to the Earth's core.
- The mantle is divided into the upper mantle and the lower mantle, with the upper mantle being more rigid and the lower mantle being more fluid.

Outer Core
- The outer core is a layer of molten metal, primarily composed of iron and nickel.
- It is responsible for generating the Earth's magnetic field through the movement of this molten metal.

Inner Core
- The inner core is the Earth's innermost layer, composed mostly of solid iron and nickel.
- Despite being solid, the immense pressure at the center of the Earth keeps the inner core in a solid state.
By studying seismic waves and geological formations, scientists have been able to determine the composition and characteristics of these layers, providing valuable insights into the Earth's structure and dynamics.
