Establishment
The Ahoms were a Tai ethnic group that established the Ahom Kingdom in the 13th century in the region of Assam, India. They migrated from what is now present-day Myanmar and settled in the Brahmaputra Valley, where they founded a powerful kingdom that lasted for nearly 600 years.

The king, known as the "Sukapha," was the supreme ruler, supported by a council of ministers called the "Buranjis." The Ahoms demonstrated remarkable sophistication in various domains, including agriculture, architecture, and warfare. They constructed impressive temples and fortifications and developed advanced irrigation systems that enhanced agricultural productivity.
Religion
Initially, the Ahoms practiced animism, worshipping nature and ancestral spirits. However, over time, they incorporated Hinduism and Buddhism into their belief system, leading to a unique syncretic culture that celebrated festivals and rituals from both traditions.
