A bag contains 12 balls which are numbered from 1 to 12. If a ball is ...
Solution:

Multiples of 5: 5, 10
Multiples of 6: 6, 12

The numbers which are multiple of 5 or 6 are: 5, 6, 10, 12

Total number of balls = 12

Therefore, the required probability is:

P(multiple of 5 or 6) = (number of favorable outcomes)/(total number of outcomes)

P(multiple of 5 or 6) = 4/12

P(multiple of 5 or 6) = 1/3

Therefore, the correct option is (d) 1/3.

A bag contains 12 balls which are numbered from 1 to 12. If a ball is ...
Multiples of 5 from 1to 12 are 5 and 10
multiples of 6 from 1 to 10 are 6 and 12
so,total no. of balls multiple of 5 and 6 =2+2 =4
total no. of balls =12
then, probability of no. of ball will be multiple of 5 and 6 =total no. of balls multiple of 5 and 6 /total no. of balls
=4/12
=1/3
hence proved.!!....
