Types of Fibres
There are mainly four types of fibres:

1. Natural Fibres:
These are the fibres that are obtained from plants and animals. They can be further divided into two categories:

a) Vegetable Fibres:
These fibres are obtained from different parts of plants such as fruits, stem, leaves, roots, etc. Examples of vegetable fibres are cotton, jute, linen, hemp, etc.

b) Animal Fibres:
These fibres are obtained from the hair or fur of animals. Examples of animal fibres are wool, silk, etc.

2. Synthetic Fibres:
These are the fibres that are not obtained from any natural source. They are made in factories using chemicals. Examples of synthetic fibres are polyester, nylon, acrylic, etc.

3. Organic Fibres:
These are the fibres that are grown without using any harmful chemicals or pesticides. Examples of organic fibres are organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, etc.

4. Mixed Fibres:
These are the fibres that are made by combining two or more types of fibres. Examples of mixed fibres are polycotton, viscose rayon, etc.

So, Wool is obtained from sheep and silk is obtained from silkworm. Sheep and silkworm are considered as animals. Hence, wool and silk are considered as animal fibers which is also known as Natural fibres.
