In flowering plants, the male gamete is formed inside the anther.

Explanation:
Flowering plants, also known as angiosperms, are the most diverse group of plants on Earth. They reproduce sexually, and their reproductive organs are located within the flowers. The male reproductive organ is called the stamen, and it consists of two main parts: the filament and the anther.

Anther:
The anther is the terminal part of the stamen and is responsible for producing and releasing the male gametes, also known as pollen grains. It is usually located on top of a filament, which supports the anther and positions it for easy access by pollinators.

Pollen Grains:
Inside the anther, pollen mother cells undergo meiosis, a type of cell division that results in the formation of haploid cells. These haploid cells then undergo mitosis to produce pollen grains. Each pollen grain contains two haploid cells: the generative cell and the tube cell.

Generative Cell:
The generative cell is the male gamete precursor. It will eventually divide to form two sperm cells.

Tube Cell:
The tube cell plays a crucial role in fertilization. It elongates and develops a pollen tube, which serves as a conduit for the sperm cells to reach the female reproductive organs.

Pollination:
Once the pollen grains are mature, they are released from the anther. Pollination occurs when a pollen grain lands on the stigma of a compatible flower. This can happen through various means, including wind, water, or the actions of pollinators such as bees, butterflies, or birds.

Fertilization:
After pollination, the pollen grain germinates on the stigma and forms a pollen tube. The tube grows down through the style and delivers the sperm cells to the ovule, which is located inside the ovary. Fertilization occurs when one of the sperm cells fuses with the egg cell, forming a zygote. This zygote will develop into an embryo, and the ovule will develop into a seed.

In conclusion, the male gamete in flowering plants is formed inside the anther, which is part of the stamen. The anther produces pollen grains containing the generative cell and the tube cell. These pollen grains are then released and transported to the stigma, where fertilization eventually takes place.
