Introduction:
The duration of day and night varies at different latitudes due to the Earth's axial tilt and its rotation. The equator experiences almost equal day and night duration throughout the year while the polar regions experience long days in summer and long nights in winter. In this context, the difference in the duration of day and night is hardly felt at Kanyakumari but not so in Kashmir.

3. Weather - The weather conditions at a place also affect the duration of day and night. Cloud cover, fog, and other atmospheric conditions can reduce the amount of sunlight reaching the surface, resulting in shorter days and longer nights.

Because on equator difference between day and night is zero both are of 12 hours . Kanniyakumari is near to the equator and Kashmir is not much nearer to equator, therefor difference of day and night is hardly felt at kannikumari but not so in kashmir.
