Verified Answer
Two varieties of tea costing Rs. 280 per kg and Rs. 180 per kg are mix...
R is sold at Rs. 288 at 20% profit.
∴ CP of R = 288/1.2 = Rs. 240
Let the quantity of P and Q be x and 2x.
As CP of P = Rs. 200 we get,
∴ CP of Q = Rs. 260
Now,
where a and b are the varieties of tea costing Rs. 280 and Rs. 180 respectively.
Solving this we get, a : b = 4: 1
Tea costing Rs. 180 in 100 kg of variety Q = (1/5) x 100 = 20 kg
Answer: 20
Hence Option 3

Two varieties of tea costing Rs. 280 per kg and Rs. 180 per kg are mix...
Given information:
- Cost of tea variety P = Rs. 200/kg
- Cost of tea variety Q = unknown
- Cost of tea variety A = Rs. 280/kg
- Cost of tea variety B = Rs. 180/kg
- Ratio of A and B in P = unknown
- Ratio of P and Q in R = 1:2
- Selling price of R = Rs. 288/kg
- Profit on R = 20%

To find: Amount of tea costing Rs. 180/kg in 100 kg of variety Q

Solution:
1. Let's assume that 100 kg of variety R is made by mixing 1 kg of variety P and 2 kg of variety Q in the given ratio.
2. Therefore, the cost of 1 kg of variety R = (1/3) * 200 + (2/3) * cost of Q
3. We know that variety R is sold at a 20% profit, which means the cost price of 1 kg of R = (100/120) * 288 = Rs. 240/kg
4. Equating the above two equations, we get:
(1/3) * 200 + (2/3) * cost of Q = 240
=> cost of Q = Rs. 180/kg

Therefore, in 100 kg of variety Q, there will be 100 kg * (2/3) * 180/kg = 12000/3 = 4000/3 = 1333.33 kg of tea costing Rs. 180/kg.

Answer: Option (c) 20

Two varieties of tea costing Rs. 280 per kg and Rs. 180 per kg are mix...
Type1 tea: 280/kg
Type2 tea: 180/kg

These 2 types are mixed together in certain ratio to form 2 mixtures namely P and Q such that (P+Q) in the ratio of 1:2 forms another mixture R whose cost price is Rs.240 (Profit 20%, SP=288 --> CP=240) (where Q being 100kg, therefore P will be 50kg (1:2)) i.e CP of mixture R= 240/kg

Given that CP of P=200/kg
Let CP of Q = x
ATQ

P+Q in 1:2 ratio = R
200*50 + x*100 = 240*(50+100)
x=240
i.e. CP of Q= Rs 260/kg

Let quantity of 280/kg and 180/kg in Q be (100-y) and y

260*100 = 280(100-y) + 180*y
y=20
i.e.
tea costing Rs. 180 is 20kg
