A train 440 metres long passes a railway platform 876 metres long in 10 seconds. How many seconds will it take to pass a running train 990 metres long?

When a train crosses a platform it covers a distance equal to the length of the platform and its own length.
Accordingly for crossing the first platform it travels 280 M (160+120) in 14 seconds.
Therefore it's speed = 280/14 = 20 M/sec
For crossing second platform distance to be travelled = 220 M (100+120)
So, time taken to cross = 220/20 = 11 sec
Ans. = 11 sec.
