Counting in Groups Class 2 Notes Maths
What is a Group?
A group is when two or more people or things come together or are brought together.
Example:
Group of toy animals
- Now, a group of glasses is given below. Can you tell how many glasses are there?
In the 1st row, there is only 1 glass, in 2nd row, there are 2 glasses and in 3rd row there are 3.
So, in total, there are 1 + 2 + 3 = 6 glasses.
- There are 4 groups of candies given below.
Can you tell how many candies are there in each group?
There are 6 candies in each group.
How many total candies are there?
There are 4 groups and each group has 6 toffees. So, we will add 6 four times.
In total, there are 6 + 6 + 6 + 6 = 24 candies.
