Ans. The capacitance of a capacitor depends on its geometry. It is directly proportional to the area of the plates (A) and inversely proportional to the distance between the plates (d). Mathematically, it can be written as C ∝ A/d.
 5. How can the capacitance of a parallel plate capacitor be increased?
Ans. The capacitance of a parallel plate capacitor can be increased by increasing the area of the plates, decreasing the distance between the plates, or by using a material with a higher permittivity (ε). These factors effectively increase the amount of charge that can be stored on the plates for a given potential difference.
