Ans. The Indian Constitution is important because it serves as the supreme law of the country. Ans. The Indian Constitution was formed by a Constituent Assembly, which was elected by the provincial legislatures. The Assembly had members from various backgrounds and ideologies. It held debates and discussions over a period of nearly three years to draft and finalize the Constitution. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Chairman of the Drafting Committee, played a crucial role in shaping the Constitution.

The salient features of the Indian Constitution include a federal system with a strong center, fundamental rights and duties of citizens, parliamentary form of government, independent judiciary, secularism, and the principle of separation of powers. Ans. The Indian Constitution can be amended through a formal process. Any amendment needs to be passed by a special majority in both houses of Parliament, i.e., a majority of the total membership of each house and a two-thirds majority of the members present and voting. Some amendments also require ratification by at least half of the state legislatures. The amendment process ensures that the Constitution remains relevant and adaptable to changing times.

Ans. The preamble to the Indian Constitution is of great significance as it reflects the ideals and aspirations of the people of India. The preamble acts as an introductory statement and provides the key principles and values on which the Constitution is based. It is often referred to by the judiciary while interpreting the Constitution.
