Jan Aushadhi Yojana

Context

On the occasion of “Jan Aushadhi Diwas”, the Prime Minister will interact with Jan Aushadhi Kendra owners and beneficiaries.

Jan Aushadhi Yojana

• Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is a programme launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in 2008 by the name Jan Aushadi Campaign.
• Objective: to make generic medicines available and affordable to all.
• The scheme is implemented by the Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI)
• As part of the program, “Jan Aushadhi Week” will be celebrated across the country from 1st March to 7th March.
• 7th March will be celebrated the “Jan Aushadhi Diwas”.

International Election Visitors Programme (IEVP) 2022

Context

The Election Commission of India (ECI) will be organizing the International Election Visitors Programme (IEVP) 2022.

International Election Visitors Programme (IEVP) 2022

• IEVP is an important part of ECI’s international outreach program and is organized with the goal of familiarizing fellow EMBs with the electoral system and processes adopted in the world’s largest democracy.
• IEVP 2022 provides an opportunity for ECI to share best practices and experience of the conduct of the poll process along with the steps taken to ensure compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
• Representatives from about 26 countries and international organizations such as International IDEA, International Foundation of Electoral Systems (IFES), Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) and Community of Democracies are going to participate in IEVP 2022.

Imagining India@2047 through Innovations

Context

A three-day programme on the theme ‘Imagining India @2047 through Innovation’, will be held in Chennai.

Imagining India @2047 through Innovation

• The programme is organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) in collaboration with the IIT Madras.
• Aim- bringing the Government and Citizens together by use of digital technology through next generation reforms and innovations.
• Objective- “Maximum Governance, Minimum Government”
• The programme also aims at entailing Government process, Re-Engineering, Universal access to e-services, excellence in digital initiatives at district level and excellence in adopting emerging technologies and use of lC’T management

Vision India@2047

• Under the initiative, the government is formulating measures to identify long-term goals and corresponding short-term outcomes for the decade.
• The vision is being developed without being restricted by the current institutional framework, and suggest structural and institutional reforms to reach its goals.
• 200 participants are selected for nucleus and cell teams composed of one lAS officer, a young faculty member and a young entrepreneur. There will be 10 such cells.
• This 4-member nucleus will be the basic think-tank during the programme and thereafter for the next 20 years to take India forward.
• Each cell will be assigned problems in 10 different themes like infrastructure, Energy, Water, Agriculture, Education, Health Care, Urban housing, etc.
• The overall theme will be ‘Innovation in Digital Governance’.

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

Context

The Union Home Minister presented medals to Officers and Jawans of CISF.

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

• The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was created in 1969, under the Central Industrial Security Force Act, 1968.
• CISF provides integrated security cover to the Public Sector Undertakings.
• Along with PSUs It is currently providing security cover to nuclear installations, space establishments, airports, seaports, power plants, sensitive Government buildings, heritage monuments and large special economic zones.

Achievements and significance of CISF

• CISF has carved a niche for itself with multi-skilled and multi-faceted proficiency.
• CISF is the only industrial security force in the whole world that is made up of government personnel.
• CISF is working in 354 sensitive and critical installations with a strength of about 1,64,000 and also covers more than 65 sensitive airports, seaports, nuclear units, space institutes, coal, oil and steel production sites and sea oil production plants.
• CISF has played a significant role in helping the Indian economy reach $ 2.5 trillion.
• CISF was also an important part of the Vande Bharat Abhiyan that helped evacuate Indian citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic.

HANSA-NG

Context

HANSA-NG aircraft has successfully completed sea level trials.

HANSA-NG

• HANSA-NG is India’s first indigenous Flying Trainer.
• It is designed and developed by CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories in Bangalore under the aegis of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
• It is one of the most advanced flying trainer powered by Rotax Digital Control Engine with unique features like
  (i) Just-In-Time Prepreg (JIPREG) Composite lightweight Airframe
  (ii) Glass Cockpit
  (iii) Bubble Canopy with wide panoramic view
  (iv) Electrically operated flaps
• It is designed to meet the Indian flying club’s requirements and is an ideal choice for Commercial Pilot Licensing (CPL) due to its low cost and low fuel consumption.
• The objectives of sea level trials were to evaluate handling qualities, climb/cruise performance, balked landing, and structural performance.

National Waterway

National Waterways

• India has nearly 14,500 km of navigable waterways consisting of rivers, canals, backwaters, etc.
• In 1986, the Government of India created the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) for regulation and development of Inland Waterways for navigation and shipping.
• The National Waterways Act was formulated in 2016, according to which 111 waterways have been declared as National Waterways (NWs).

Context

National waterway-2 (Brahmaputra) gets connected with National waterway-1 (Ganga) through the Indo Bangladesh Protocol Route.

Details

• A self-propelled vessel MV Lal Bahadur Shastri carrying 200 MT of foodgrains for Food Corporation of India (FCI) completed its pilot run from Patna to Pandu via Bangladesh.
• IWAI is planning to run a fixed schedule sailing between NW1 and NW2, which creates a new age of inland water transport for Assam & Northeast India.
• The vessel started its journey from Patna on National Waterway-1 (Ganga), passed through the Indo Bangladesh Protocol (IBP) route through Khulna and reached Pandu on National Waterway-2 (Brahmaputra) covering a distance of 2,350 km.
• This is going to provide the business community with a viable, economic & ecological alternative.
