How to apply for UPSC Mains?
Once the UPSC Prelims result is declared the eligible candidates can apply for the Mains exam. The candidates can fill out the online Detailed Application Form (DAF) from the official website i.e. upsc.gov.in

UPSC Mains Exam Pattern
The candidates who are preparing for the UPSC Mains exam should be well versed with the UPSC Mains Exam Pattern. The candidates can get the study material from the official website i.e. upsc.gov.in. The UPSC Mains exam pattern 2022 will consist of 9 theory-based papers (descriptive one). Out of these 9 papers, 7 will be counted for creating merit list. The candidates will have to choose 1 optional subject for the UPSC Mains.
The maximum marks for the UPSC Mains exams are 1750 (250 marks each). All papers will be of 3-hour duration.
