Q2: If there are 8 twenty-rupee notes and 4 friends to share then find the rupees each friend gets.
Worksheet Solutions: Fair Share - 1 | Worksheets with solutions for Class 3

Ans: Total rupees = 20 x 8 = 160
There are four friends to share 160 rupees. So each friend will get, 160 ÷ 4 = 40
Therefore, each friend will get 40 rupees or we can say 2 notes of twenty rupees.

Q3: We have 20 books and we can keep 4 books in one shelf of the almirah then how many shelves do we need to keep all our books in the almirah?
Ans:
We will keep 4 books on the first shelf. Then we are left with 16 books.
Similarly, we will repeat this process until all the books are placed in the almirah.
On the second shelf, we will keep 4 books and the remaining books = 16 - 4 = 12.
On the third shelf, we will keep 4 books and the remaining books = 12 - 4 = 8.
On the fourth shelf, we will keep 4 books and the remaining books = 8 - 4 = 4.
On the fifth shelf, we will keep 4 books and the remaining books = 4 - 4 = 0.
Therefore, in the almirah, 5 shelves are required to keep all the books.
We can directly find using division as, 20 ÷ 4= 5

Q4: A mother bird has 9 grains and she distributes all between three babies and then finds the number of grains each baby gets.
Ans:
So, first, the mother bird distributes one grain to each and then repeats the process.
In the first cycle of distribution, each baby gets 1 grain and 6 grains left with the mother.
9 - 3 = 6
In the second cycle of distribution, each baby gets 1 more grain and 3 grains left with the mother.
6 - 3 = 3
In the third cycle of distribution, each baby gets 1 more grain and 0 grains left with the mother.
3 - 3 = 0
So each baby will get 3 grains.
9 ÷ 3 = 3
