Once, a crow got a piece of freshly baked cake. It happily flew with it and sat on the branch of a tree, so that it could eat it peacefully. Right then, a fox saw the crow with the cake. The fox wanted to eat the cake. So, it decided to play a trick on the crow. The fox said, “Oh crow, I have heard that you are a very good singer. Could you sing one of your great songs for me?” 

The crow was flattered. It wanted to show off its singing abilities. So, it opened its beak to sing, and the piece of cake dropped to the ground! The fox caught the cake in its mouth, and quickly ate it. 

Moral: Do not fall for flattery.

It was winter. Jack and Johnny loved to play in the snow. One day, they decided to make a snowman. After working for half a day, they had a delightful snowman, with woolen hat, twigs for the hands, a carrot for the nose and some buttons for the eyes, and mouth. The boys were very happy with their snowman. After making the snowman, they went home to rest. 

Unfortunately, towards noon, the sun was up, and the snowman began to melt. When the boys came back in the evening to look at their snowman, they exclaimed, “Oh dear! What happened to our snowman?” Soon the sun melted the snowman completely, and the boys were very sad.

Title of the Story: The Disappearing Snowman
