Reasons of Diversity in Indian Society:
1. Large geographical area: 7th Largest in the world. From Tip of Kashmir to Kanniyakumari in the south and from Gujarat in West to Arunachal Pradesh in East. And not to forget Andaman and Nicobar And Lakshadweep islands. These together comprise of 29 states and 7 Union Territories.

2. India has seen many kingdoms and Empires in the past: These include the Rajputs, Mauryas, Dravids, Bengalis, Marathas, Mughals and many many more. Each of those has some culture imbibed in today's India.

3. Diverse climate: We have a hot and humid climate in the south, to moderate temperature in East and West, to dry climate in central parts of India, to heavy rains in the far east and to freezing temperatures in the North in the Himalayas.

4. Language: Each state had its own language, mind you it is not just the accent and dialect change, we have an entire language.

5. Cultural: The history and culture and habits of each state are different. It's so different that you can make out which state one belongs to. The way you cook the way you dress and the way you speak is distinct.

6. Festivals: So many festivals each with its unique identity and history, no country in the world would be celebrating so many festivals and that too together.

7. Religions: Although the media tries to find some Breaking News related to religion always, we as common people live in complete harmony, all religions have equal rights, no religion is suppressed. Probably the only country in the world which will give you holidays on Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi festivals.
