What is the composition of lok Sabha nd rajya sabha?
Lok Sabha Composition:
- The Lok Sabha, also known as the House of the People, is the lower house of India's Parliament.
- It consists of a maximum of 552 members, of which 530 are elected from states and union territories, and up to 20 members can be nominated by the President.
- Members are elected through a direct election by the people of India, using the First Past the Post system.
- The current strength of the Lok Sabha is 545 members, including two members nominated from the Anglo-Indian community.
- The term of Lok Sabha members is five years, unless dissolved earlier.
Rajya Sabha Composition:
- The Rajya Sabha, also known as the Council of States, is the upper house of India's Parliament.
- It consists of a maximum of 250 members, of which 238 are elected by the members of State Legislative Assemblies and Union territories, and 12 members are nominated by the President.
- Members are elected for a six-year term, with one-third of the members retiring every two years.
- The Rajya Sabha is a permanent body and is not subject to dissolution like the Lok Sabha.
- The Vice President of India is the ex-officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.

- Lok Sabha is the lower house, while Rajya Sabha is the upper house of Parliament.
