Which one of the following duties is NOT performed by the Comptroller ...
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) is an independent constitutional authority appointed by the President of India to audit and report on all government expenditure. The CAG plays a crucial role in ensuring accountability and transparency in the use of public funds.

The duties performed by the CAG of India are as follows:

1. To audit and report on all expenditure from the Consolidated Fund of India: The CAG audits and reports on all government expenditure from the Consolidated Fund of India, which includes all revenues received by the government, loans raised by it, and money received in repayment of loans.

2. To audit and report on all expenditure from the Contingency Funds and Public Accounts: The CAG also audits and reports on all expenditure from the Contingency Funds and Public Accounts, which are funds kept outside the Consolidated Fund of India.

3. To audit and report on all trading, manufacturing, profit and loss accounts: The CAG also audits and reports on all trading, manufacturing, profit and loss accounts of government-owned companies, corporations, and other bodies.

However, the duty of controlling the receipt and issue of public money, and ensuring that the public revenue is lodged in the exchequer is not performed by the CAG. This responsibility lies with the Ministry of Finance and other government departments.

In summary, the CAG of India plays a crucial role in ensuring financial accountability and transparency in the government's use of public funds.
