Simple, A Profit : B Profit =52×12 : 39×8=2:1.
profit of B = 9x/4×3 +3x/4 = 20000. 18x/12=20000.
x= 20000×12/18. A profit = 9×40000×2/3×12 =20000Ans.

Calculation of Profit and Distribution

  • Initial capital of A = RS 52000

  • Capital of B after 4 months = RS 39000

  • Total capital at the end of the year = RS 91000

  • Let the total profit for the year be x

  • B received 25% of the profit as commission for managing the business, which is RS 20000

  • Therefore, B's share of the profit after deducting the commission = (x/4) - 20000

  • A's share of the profit = (3x/4) + ((x/4) - 20000) = (7x/16) + 10000

  • To find A's share of the profit, we need to find the value of x

Calculation of Total Profit

  • A invested for the whole year, so his share in the profit is for the whole year

  • B invested for only 8 months (4 months + 8 months = 12 months)

  • Therefore, B's share in the profit is for 8/12 or 2/3 of the year

  • Let A's profit for the year be y

  • Then, B's profit for 8 months = (2/3) * (x - y)

  • Also, A's profit for the year = y

  • Therefore, total profit for the year = A's profit + B's profit for 8 months

  • Substituting the values, we get x = (3y/2) + (2/3) * (x - y)

  • Solving the equation, we get x = (9y/4)

Calculation of A's Share

  • Substituting the value of x in A's share of the profit, we get A's share = (7/16) * (9y/4) + 10000

  • Simplifying the expression, we get A's share = (63y/64) + 10000

  • Since B received RS 20000 as commission, his share in the profit after deducting the commission is (9y/16)

  • Therefore, A's share in the profit after deducting B's commission is (y/16)

  • Substituting the value of y, we get A's share in the profit = RS 16875

Conclusion

  • A received RS 16875 as his share in the profit

  • The total profit for the year was RS 67500

  • A invested RS 52000 for the whole year, while B invested RS 39000 for 8 months

  • B received RS 20000 as commission for managing the business
