We need two eyes because a human being has a horizontal field of view of about 150 degree with one eye and of about 180 degree with two eyes. Thus, two eyes provide us wider horizontal field of view.
With one eye, the world looks flat, i.e., two dimensional only. With two eyes, the view is three dimensional, i.e., dimension of depth is added to our view.

We have two eyes because:-
Two eyes provide us a wider field of view .If a person has one eye open then the horizontal field of view will be 150 degree but with two eyes , the field of view becomes 180 degree. This means that with two eyes we can see a larger area in front of us.
Two eyes enables us to judge the distance more accurately .These two eyes see the same object at two different angles .The images of these two different angles are sent to the brain. The brain then combines these 2 images and forms a three dimensional picture of the object which enables us to judge distance more accurately.
