Solution:

Given:
Amount of ethylene glycol = ?
Amount of water = 5 kg
Freezing point of solution = -15°C
Kb = 0.52 K kg/mol
Kf = 1.86 K kg/mol

To find: Boiling point of the solution

Formula used:
ΔTf = Kf × m
ΔTb = Kb × m

where ΔTf is the change in freezing point,
ΔTb is the change in boiling point,
Kf is the molal freezing point constant,
Kb is the molal boiling point constant,
and m is the molality of the solution.

Calculation:
1. Calculation of molality of the solution
Molality (m) = moles of solute ÷ mass of solvent (in kg)

The molecular weight of ethylene glycol (C2H6O2) = 2 × 12 + 6 × 1 + 2 × 16 = 62 g/mol
Let's assume that x kg of ethylene glycol is added to the solution.
So, the mass of the solution = (5 + x) kg
Number of moles of ethylene glycol = mass ÷ molar mass = x ÷ 62
Molality of the solution = (x ÷ 62) ÷ 5 = x ÷ 310

2. Calculation of the change in freezing point
ΔTf = Kf × m
ΔTf = 1.86 × (x ÷ 310)
ΔTf = (1.86/310) x

3. Calculation of the freezing point of the solution
The freezing point of the solution = Freezing point of pure water - ΔTf
-15 = 0 - ΔTf
ΔTf = 15°C

Substituting the value of ΔTf in the equation,
15 = (1.86/310) x
x = 100 g

So, 100 g of ethylene glycol is added to the solution.

4. Calculation of the change in boiling point
ΔTb = Kb × m
ΔTb = 0.52 × (x ÷ 310)
ΔTb = (0.52/310) x

5. Calculation of the boiling point of the solution
The boiling point of the solution = Boiling point of pure water + ΔTb
Let's assume that the boiling point of pure water is 100°C.
Boiling point of the solution = 100 + ΔTb
Boiling point of the solution = 100 + (0.52/310) x
Boiling point of the solution = 100 + 0.168°C
Boiling point of the solution = 100.168°C

Therefore, the boiling point of the water-glycol solution is 100.168°C.
