Given:
Rahul walks 10 km towards the south
Then turns left and walks 5 km
From there, he turns right and walks 6 km to reach point A

To find:
The distance between the starting point and point A and the direction of point A with respect to the starting point.

Solution:
We can visualize Rahul's movements as follows:

Starting point -> 10 km south -> 5 km east -> 6 km north-east (point A)

We can use Pythagoras theorem to find the distance between the starting point and point A.

Distance = √(10² + (5+6)²)
Distance = √(100 + 121)
Distance = √221
Distance ≈ 14.87 km

The direction of point A with respect to the starting point can be found as follows:

Starting point -> point A = 5 km east and 6 km north-east

We can see that the direction is towards the south-east. Therefore, the correct answer is option B, i.e., 17 km south-east.
