History is considered to be a study of _____________.a)Comparisonsb)Th...
Yeah...it's very true answer will be c ancient times to rule the colonies efficiently, many invaders altered or erased the history of that particular nation. A citizen who is not proud of his nation can be easily ruled without any revolt. So the invaders started to destroying the past of nation from the minds of the citizens of that nation. The invaders also destroyed everything that represented the glorious past. They disconnected the people from their past and manipulated their mind to rule them efficiently in present. I am talking about Bharatavarsa. The citizens were step by step uprooted from their past and made to believe that their present is better under the rule of them(Invaders). This mindset can also be seen today. Westerners still believes that Ancient Bharata was a land of Snake Charmers and dirty Cows. The citizens have also installed that right from the onset of their understanding and as a result they despise their nation and accept whatever is foreign. The lack of Pride in one’s nation can only be restored when they are taught how glorious was their past. And this doesn’t mean that we have to constantly dwell on past and boast previous accomplishment but one should be educated enough to defend their nation when someone is demeaning it.

Let me remind what Jorge Agustín Nicolás Ruiz de Santayana y Borrás, known in English as George Santayana said. He said that, “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

Past should be a constant reminder to us while we take decision in the Present which would ultimately built our Future.

Productivity maximized.
Why Study History?

By Peter N. Stearns

Any subject of study needs justification: its supporters should be able to explain why it is worth attention. Most subjects attract a few people who simply like the information, but those who are less interested in a topic need to know what the purpose is.

History, perhaps the most important of the social sciences, is the study of the past, but at its core, is a study of people. People live in the present. They plan for and worry about the future Given all the demands of living in the present, why bother with what has been? Why do most schools insist student

-Because sooner or later History repeats itself and when that happens its better to know the past and the mistakes which we can avoid in present world which will eventually be repeated.

-Because the history is full of human beings Good Bad Ugly based on every humans perception, knowing about past history also can be helpful in shedding some light on the human psychology to a greater extent.

-Because history is all we got to compare our human race and the entire world on various parameters, it can be on ground of morality, scientific advancement, growth of technology, development of human intelle

Why should we learn history?
Why is it important to know the history of one’s country?
What is the importance of history in life?
We learn history because of several reasons

1- Recognition:- we crave to be recognized by our peers, social groups, tribes or nations. It’s part of human nature to show off that’s why we promote our culture, which is a manifestation of hundreds of years a community has lived.

2- Knowledge:- History present the cumulative knowledge of the past. As of this moment we know about the society and culture of Greeks, Romans and Persian empires.

3:- Human Behavior:- One motive to learn history is to understand the human behavior. How individuals and nations has responded to a certain phenomenon for example the assassination of Ceasre, the Holocaust , Chinese revolution, The Partition of India and the Cold War.

Learning history is quite useful. Examining different historical perspectives is critical. Arguing different perspectives is important and practical. Doctors need to know a patient’s medical history and evidence from tests and examinations in helping diagnose and determine a possible illness or medical condition. Lawyers look at historical evidence to either prove someone guilty or defend someone. Using evidence in civil law suits is critical to persuade a judge to agree with a plaintiff or with a defendant. Engineers examine the history of a building or road to determine if the structure can

Because learning history helps you learn from the history! It isn't about learning ABOUT the past as much as it is learning FROM the past!

So, let's imagine a world where there is no learning history.
It's said that "If you commit the same mistake more than once, it is no longer considered a mistake. It's a conscious decision." In that case, why try and commit a mistake, if you already knew that it has been a mistake in the past?

Moreover, how can you understand why things are in the world as they are? Why USA has the largest nominal GDP? Why is USA the leader of space exploration? Why did paintings flourish in Europe? Human Inquisitiveness has no bounds and in the process of answering these questions, a part of history has to be covered.

None of the evolutionary theories would have emerged if past has been ignored. Without these theories, science would have been a lot more rudimentary. So, you can also note that Science and History are also inter-related.

And on a lighter note, you'd also miss amazing TV Shows such as the Band of Brothers if you chose to ignore the past.

The present is based on the past, and the future shall be based on the present. So, in order to create a sustainable future, it is essential to make the right choices in the present by studying the past!

thank you
