Coal , petroleum and diesel are natural resources formed through dead plants and animals under the depth land so it's a biotic ( all living things are biotic resources). These are non-renewable cuz once they are used, they can't be renewed and reused and the process takes millions of years for them to be made.

Biotic and Abiotic Resources:

Biotic resources are derived from living organisms or their remains, while abiotic resources are non-living materials that are obtained from the earth's crust, atmosphere, and hydrosphere.
