India was not convinced India thought it useful and logical. If there used to be no rules or the Constitution of India people would go beyond the there limit, like discrimination, threats towards minorities, etc. Now, the government of India wanted that people should make there ruler as per to their choice as no one can rule over common people but people have to follow the Constitution.
