GIVEN:
Selling Price = 255
Loss = 15%
CALCULATION:

⇒ 0.85 Cost Price = 255
⇒ CP = 255/0.85 = 300
To earn a 20% profit Selling Price = 1.2 Cost Price

On selling an article for Rs 255, shopkeeper losses 15%. At how much (...
Given: Selling price of an article = Rs 255, Loss = 15%

To find: Selling price to earn a profit of 20%

Let's first find the cost price of the article.

Selling price = Cost price - Loss

255 = Cost price - 0.15 * Cost price

255 = 0.85 * Cost price

Cost price = 255 / 0.85 = Rs 300

Now, let's calculate the selling price to earn a profit of 20%.

Profit = 20% of Cost price = 0.2 * 300 = Rs 60

Selling price = Cost price + Profit = 300 + 60 = Rs 360

Therefore, the shopkeeper should sell the article at Rs 360 to earn a profit of 20%.
