Consider the following statements regarding Jain sects. 1. The Svetam...
The correct answer is option 'C' - Both 1 and 2.

Explanation:
1. The Svetambara tradition of Jainism traces its lineage through Sthulabhadra:
The Svetambara tradition of Jainism is one of the two major sects of Jainism, the other being Digambara. The Svetambara tradition believes that women can attain liberation and therefore allows women to become nuns. It also allows the use of white clothing. The lineage of the Svetambara tradition is traced back to Sthulabhadra, who was a disciple of Sudharma Swami, the last disciple of Mahavira. Sthulabhadra is considered to be the final authority in matters of doctrine and he is believed to have compiled the scriptures known as the Svetambara Canon.

2. As per the Digambara sect of Jainism, Bhadrabahu was the last Shruta Kevalin:
The Digambara tradition of Jainism is the other major sect of Jainism. Unlike the Svetambara tradition, the Digambara tradition believes that women cannot attain liberation and therefore does not allow women to become nuns. It also follows the practice of nudity. According to the Digambara tradition, Bhadrabahu was the last Shruta Kevalin, which means he was the last person who possessed complete knowledge of the Jain scriptures. Bhadrabahu was a renowned scholar and ascetic who lived around the 4th century BCE. He is believed to have migrated from Magadha to Karnataka due to a famine and settled in Shravanabelagola. Bhadrabahu is also known for his role in the Jain council held at Pataliputra, where the scriptures were compiled.

Therefore, both statements are correct. The Svetambara tradition traces its lineage through Sthulabhadra, while the Digambara tradition believes that Bhadrabahu was the last Shruta Kevalin.
