Introduction

To generate an audio frequency, we need a circuit which can create a sinusoidal waveform of the required frequency. This circuit can be built using a few simple electronic components.

Components Required


  • Resistor (10kΩ)

  • Capacitor (0.01µF)

  • Operational amplifier (LM741)

  • Power supply (±12V)

  • Speaker (8Ω)

  • The 10kΩ resistor and 0.01µF capacitor form a low-pass filter, which filters out any high-frequency noise present in the input signal.

  • The LM741 operational amplifier is configured as a non-inverting amplifier with a gain of 10.

  • The input signal is fed to the non-inverting input of the amplifier, which amplifies it by a factor of 10.

  • The output of the amplifier is then connected to the speaker, which converts the electrical signal into an audible sound wave.

  • The frequency of the output signal can be adjusted by changing the values of the resistor and capacitor in the low-pass filter.
