1. Nationality:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- For certain services like IAS and IPS, candidates from Nepal and Bhutan are also eligible.

2. Age Limit:
- The minimum age limit is 21 years.
- The maximum age limit varies depending on the category:
- General category: 32 years
- OBC (Other Backward Classes): 35 years
- SC/ST (Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes): 37 years
- Defense Services Personnel, disabled in operations during hostilities: 35 years
- Ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least 5 years military service: 37 years
