Verified Answer
Directions: Each of the questions below consists of a question and so...
Following the common explanation we can say the data in statement II and III are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I is not sufficient to answer the question.
Hence, the correct answer is option C.
Common Explanation:
From Statement I:
References
Depa is the daughter -in-law of Kana, Aman is grandson of Shiv, who is the father of Siya.
Inference:
We will use the above information in two parts.
Part-1
Depa is the daughter-in-law of Kama.
Using the above information we create the following blood chart.
Part-2
Aman is grandson of Shiv, who is the father of Siya.
Since we don't have any information about the sixth person i.e. 'DAYA' thus we can't determine the youngest person in the family.
Thus a data statement in I alone is not sufficient to answer the question.
From Statement II:
Reference:
Depa is not the youngest while Shiv is the eldest.
Inference
Using the given information we can say that Depa is not the youngest in the family but Shiv is the eldest in the family.
Here, anyone among Siya, Daya, Kana and Aman can be the youngest in the family.
Thus, data Statement in II alone is also not sufficient to answer the question.
From Statement III
Inference
Using the given information we can create the following blood chart.
Here also we don't have any information regarding the sixth person in the family i.e 'Depa'. Thus we can't determine the youngest person of the family.
Thus,a data statement in III alone is again not sufficient to answer the question.
From Statement I and II.
Reference
Depa is the daughter-in-law of kama, Aman is grandson of Shiv, Who is the father of Shiv.
Depa is not the youngest while Shiv is the eldest.
Inference:
From statement I we have the information that,
Depa,is the daughter-in-law of Kama.
Using the above information we can create the following blood chart.
And, from statement II we have the information that
Depa is not the youngest in the family but Shiv is the eldest in the family. But Still we didn't have any information about the sixth member i.e 'Daya'. So either Aman or Daya could be the youngest member of the family.
Thus, data in statement I and II are not sufficient to answer the question.
From the II and III.
Reference
Depa is not the youngest while Shiv is eldest.
Siya is the father of Daya, Who is the grandson of Shiv, Kana is the wife of Aman's son and Daya's father.
Inference
From statement II we have the information that
Depa is not the youngest in the family but Shiv is the eldest in the family.
And from statement III we have the following information.
Since Depa is not the youngest person of the family as per statement II, so the person in the third generation must be the youngest one. Therefore it is clear that Daya is the youngest person of the family.
Thus, data in statement II and III are sufficient to answer the question.

Statement Analysis:

Statement I:
- Depa is the daughter-in-law of Kana.
- Aman is the grandson of Shiv, who is the father of Siya.
- This statement does not provide direct information about the age of the family members, so it is not sufficient to determine who is the youngest.

Statement II:
- Depa is not the youngest while Shiv is the eldest.
- This statement tells us that Depa is not the youngest, but it does not provide enough information to determine who the youngest family member is among the six members.

Statement III:
- Siya is the father of Daya, who is the grandson of Shiv.
- Kana is the wife of Aman’s son and Daya’s father.
- This statement provides some information about the relationships among the family members, but it does not directly specify the ages of the family members. Therefore, it is also not sufficient to determine who is the youngest.

Combining Statements II and III:
- From Statement II, we know that Depa is not the youngest and Shiv is the eldest.
- From Statement III, we know the relationships between Siya, Daya, Shiv, and Kana.
- By combining these two statements, we can infer that Siya is not the youngest (since he is the father of Daya) and Shiv is the eldest. This implies that the youngest family member must be one of the remaining members - Depa, Aman, or Kana.
- Therefore, the data in Statement II and III together are sufficient to determine who is the youngest among the family members.
Therefore, the correct answer is option 'C'.
