  • He is revered as "Guru Ravidas", in most of the North India and Deccan Region. He was born in and around 1450 C.E. during Lodhi Dynasty & died around 1520 C.E. His poems are included in Guru Granth Sahib. He is considered as a disciple of Ramananda. He is contemporary to Kabir, Meera, Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
  • Ravidas taught removal of social divisions of caste and gender, and promoted unity in the pursuit of personal spiritual freedoms. He followed "nirguna" form of supreme being and discussed the comparisons with "saguna". He worshippped god as "Hari".
