Assertion : Weak acids have low electrical conductivity.Reason : Stro...
Assertion (A) is true but reason (R) is false.

Explanation:
Weak acids have low electrical conductivity because they do not completely ionize in water. When a weak acid is dissolved in water, only a small fraction of the acid molecules dissociate into ions, resulting in a low concentration of ions in the solution.

Strong acids, on the other hand, completely ionize in water, leading to a high concentration of ions in the solution. These ions are responsible for carrying electric charge and hence strong acids have high electrical conductivity.

The reason provided in the statement is incorrect. Strong acids and weak acids do not have equal concentrations of hydrogen ions in their solutions. Strong acids have a higher concentration of hydrogen ions compared to weak acids. The concentration of hydrogen ions in a solution is determined by the degree of ionization or dissociation of the acid in water.

In conclusion, weak acids have low electrical conductivity because they do not completely ionize in water, resulting in a low concentration of ions in the solution. The reason provided in the statement is incorrect as strong acids and weak acids have different concentrations of hydrogen ions in their solutions.

Assertion : Weak acids have low electrical conductivity.Reason : Stro...
On the basis of dissociation of acids, the weak acid only dissociates to a small extent in the aqueous solution giving a small number of ions and electrons. Thus, they have low conductivity.

Strong acid, when dissolved in water dissociates completely thus producing a large number ions. Whereas, weak acid has a low concentration of hydrogen ions as compared to strong acid.

Therefore Assertion is true and Reason is false.
