SCR: Silicon Controlled Rectifier

Once the voltage exceeds the breakover voltage, the device enters the forward conduction state and conducts current until the voltage drops below a certain level.

SCRs are used in a variety of applications, such as lighting control, motor control, and power supplies. They are also used in electronic dimmer switches, electric power transmission systems, and welding equipment.
