Feature integration theory attempts to explain which aspect of object ...
Feature integration theory proposed by Treisman and colleagues has been an influential theory that explains how individual features of an object are separately encoded and then integrated together to produce the perception of a whole object. This theory is not about perception of individual features per se, integrating touch and vision, or perceiving multiple colours. Attention is a necessary component of this theory in that it is required to hold the features of an object together, but it is not the aspect of object perception being explained per se.
