Consider the following statements with reference to the power of the G...
Incorrect Statement Explanation:

Statement 1: He appoints the State Election Commissioner and determines his condition of services and tenure of office and the ground on which he can be removed.
- The Governor of a State does not appoint the State Election Commissioner. The State Election Commissioner is usually appointed by the Governor in consultation with the State Government and the State Election Commission Act, 1994.
- The conditions of service, tenure of office, and grounds for removal of the State Election Commissioner are determined by the Constitution and relevant laws, not by the Governor.

Statement 2: He decides on the disqualification of a Member of the State Legislature in consultation with the State Election Commission.
- The power to decide on the disqualification of a Member of the State Legislature lies with the Speaker of the State Legislature, not the Governor. The decision is made based on the recommendations of the State Election Commission or any other authority specified by the Constitution or relevant laws.
Therefore, statement 1 is not correct as the Governor does not have the power to appoint the State Election Commissioner or determine their conditions of service, tenure, and grounds for removal.
