Consider the following statements regarding Tiger Reserves in India:1....

Explanation:

1. Tiger Reserves Notification:
- Tiger Reserves are notified by State Governments as per provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972.
- The Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 provides the legal framework for the protection of wildlife in India, including the establishment of protected areas like Tiger Reserves.
- State Governments have the authority to notify areas as Tiger Reserves based on the presence of tigers and their habitats.

2. Alteration in Boundaries:
- No alteration in the boundaries of a tiger reserve can be made except on a recommendation of the Tiger Conservation Authority.
- The Tiger Conservation Authority is a statutory body established under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 to oversee the implementation of tiger conservation initiatives in the country.
- Any proposed changes in the boundaries of a Tiger Reserve need to be approved by the Tiger Conservation Authority to ensure the protection of tiger habitats and populations.

Therefore, both statements are correct as per the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. State Governments have the authority to notify Tiger Reserves, while any alterations in boundaries require the recommendation of the Tiger Conservation Authority to ensure effective tiger conservation efforts.
