The SBI PO selection process consists of three stages:
1. Preliminary Exam:
- The preliminary exam is the first stage of the SBI PO selection process.
- It is an online objective test consisting of three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.
- Each section carries a weightage of 20 marks, making the total weightage for the preliminary exam 100 marks.
- The marks obtained in the preliminary exam are not considered for the final selection, but they are used to shortlist candidates for the next stage.
2. Main Exam:
- The main exam is the second stage of the SBI PO selection process.
- It is an online objective and descriptive test.
- The objective test consists of four sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language.
- Each section carries a weightage of 20 marks, making the total weightage for the objective test 200 marks.
- The descriptive test is a letter and essay writing test, which carries a weightage of 50 marks.
- The marks obtained in the main exam are considered for the final selection.
- The marks obtained in the objective and descriptive tests are converted to out of 75 and 25 marks, respectively, for the final selection process.
3. Group Exercises and Interview:
- The group exercises and interview are the final stage of the SBI PO selection process.
- The group exercises carry a weightage of 20 marks, while the interview carries a weightage of 30 marks.
- The marks obtained in the group exercises and interview are added to the marks obtained in the main exam for the final selection.
- The combined marks of the main exam, group exercises, and interview are used to prepare the merit list for the final selection.
Weightage of each stage:
- Preliminary Exam: 100 marks (not considered for final selection)
- Main Exam (Objective Test): 200 marks
- Main Exam (Descriptive Test): 50 marks
- Group Exercises: 20 marks
- Interview: 30 marks
Total weightage:
- Objective Test: 200 marks (converted to out of 75 for final selection)
- Descriptive Test: 50 marks (converted to out of 25 for final selection)
- Group Exercises: 20 marks
- Interview: 30 marks
