Selection Process for IBPS PO Exam
The selection process for the IBPS PO exam consists of three stages:
1. Preliminary Exam
2. Main Exam
3. Interview
1. Preliminary Exam:
- The preliminary exam is the first stage of the selection process and carries a weightage of 100 marks.
- It consists of three sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.

- The exam is conducted online and consists of both objective and descriptive questions.
- The objective section carries 3 hours of time duration, while the descriptive section carries 30 minutes.
- The candidates need to qualify in each section by securing the minimum cutoff marks to be eligible for the interview.
- The marks obtained in the main exam are considered for shortlisting candidates for the interview round.
3. Interview:
- The interview is the final stage of the selection process and carries a weightage of 100 marks.
- It is conducted by the participating organizations in coordination with the Nodal Bank.
- The interview panel evaluates the candidate's personality, communication skills, leadership qualities, and suitability for the banking sector.
- The candidates are required to secure a minimum qualifying mark in the interview to be considered for the final merit list.
- The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the main exam and the interview in the ratio of 80:20, respectively.
