Are there any crash courses that cover the latest changes in the GATE ...
Introduction:
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an entrance exam conducted for students seeking admission into postgraduate programs in engineering and technology. It is also used by various PSUs for recruitment purposes. The GATE EE exam pattern has undergone some changes in recent years. In this crash course, we will cover the latest changes in the GATE EE exam pattern.

Changes in GATE EE Exam Pattern:

1. Introduction of Multiple Select Questions (MSQ):
- Previously, the GATE EE exam consisted of only multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- However, in recent years, the exam pattern has been modified to include Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) as well.
- In MSQs, candidates are required to select multiple correct options from the given choices.
- MSQs carry 1 or 2 marks each, and there is no negative marking for these questions.

2. Introduction of Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions:
- Another significant change in the GATE EE exam pattern is the inclusion of Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
- NAT questions do not have any options to choose from. Instead, candidates need to enter the numerical answer using the virtual numeric keypad.
- These questions are designed to test the candidate's ability to solve problems and arrive at the correct numerical answer.
- NAT questions carry 1 or 2 marks each, and there is no negative marking for these questions.

3. Change in Marking Scheme:
- Previously, there was negative marking for wrong answers in the GATE EE exam.
- However, in the revised exam pattern, negative marking is applicable only for MCQs.
- For each incorrect answer to a 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark is deducted, and for each incorrect answer to a 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark is deducted.
- There is no negative marking for MSQs and NAT questions.

4. Change in Total Marks:
- The total marks for the GATE EE exam have been revised in recent years.
- Previously, the maximum marks for the exam were 100.
- However, the maximum marks have now been increased to 100 for the General Aptitude section and 85 for the Technical section, making a total of 185 marks.

Conclusion:
The latest changes in the GATE EE exam pattern include the introduction of Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions, a revised marking scheme, and an increase in total marks. Aspirants should familiarize themselves with these changes and prepare accordingly to improve their chances of success in the GATE EE exam.
