Eligibility Criteria for Appearing in UPSC Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Optional Paper II
To appear in the UPSC Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Optional Paper II, candidates must fulfill certain eligibility criteria. These criteria are set by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and are as follows:

2. Age Limit: The candidate must be at least 21 years old and should not have attained the age of 32 years as of 1st August of the examination year. However, certain age relaxations are provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories:
- OBC (Other Backward Classes): 3 years of relaxation in the upper age limit.
- SC/ST (Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes): 5 years of relaxation in the upper age limit.
- Ex-servicemen: 5 years of relaxation in the upper age limit.
- ECO/SSCO (Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers): 5 years of relaxation in the upper age limit.
- PWD (Persons with Disabilities): 10 years of relaxation in the upper age limit.
3. Education Qualification: The candidate must have a degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from a recognized university or possess an equivalent qualification. It is important for the degree to be recognized by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).
4. Number of Attempts: The number of attempts allowed for appearing in the UPSC Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Optional Paper II is subject to certain limitations:
- General Category: 6 attempts.
- OBC Category: 9 attempts.
- SC/ST Category: No restriction on the number of attempts.
5. Physical Standards: There are no specific physical standards mentioned for appearing in the UPSC Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science Optional Paper II.
