Directions: Read the following information carefully and answer the given question.
A total of 4800 people subscribed for Amazon's membership in the first quarter of 2018 (January, February and March). There are two types of membership - Prime and Basic. The ratio of the number of subscriptions in March was 111 : 139 for Prime and Basic, respectively. The ratio of the number of Prime subscriptions to that of Basic subscriptions in January was 27 : 23; and the difference between the numbers of Basic and Prime subscriptions in January was 96. We know, 27x – 23x = 96
4x = 96; x = 24
So, number of Prime subscriptions = 27x
= 27 × 24 = 648 --- (1)
Number of Basic subscriptions = 23x
= 23 × 24 = 552
Total number of people subscribing in January = 552 + 648 = 1200 --- (2)
The ratio of the number of Prime subscriptions to that of Basic subscriptions in January was 27 : 23; and the difference between the numbers of Basic and Prime subscriptions in January was 96.
We know, 27x – 23x = 96
4x = 96; x = 24
So, number of Prime subscriptions = 27x
= 27 × 24 = 648 --- (1)
Number of Basic subscriptions = 23x
= 23 × 24 = 552
Total number of people subscribing in January = 552 + 648 = 1200 --- (2)
In March:
The number of people subscribing for Prime membership in January was 464 less than the number of people subscribing for Basic membership in March.

Number of Prime subscriptions:
