Directions: Study the following information carefully and answer the q...
Let the number of athletes sent by Country-B in Event-Y be 8x.
Number of athletes sent by Country-C in Event-Z = 5x
Number of athletes sent by Country-A in Event-Y = 75% of 8x = 6x
Number of athletes sent by Country-A in Event-X = 120% of 6x = 7.2x
Number of athletes sent by Country-C in Event-Y = 8x – 350
Number of athletes sent by Country-A in Event-Z = 2,270 – 6x – 7.2x = 2,270 – 13.2x
Number of athletes sent by Country-B in Event-Z = 80% of 8x = 6.4x
So, 5x + 2,270 – 13.2x + 6.4x = 2,090
1.8x = 180
x = 100
For Country-A:
Number of athletes sent in Event-X = 720
Number of athletes sent in Event-Y = 600
Number of athletes sent in Event-Z = 950
Total athletes sent = 2,270
For Country-B:
Number of athletes sent in Event-X = 540
Number of athletes sent in Event-Y = 800
Number of athletes sent in Event-Z = 640
Total athletes sent = 1,980
For Country-C:
Number of athletes sent in Event-X = 1,250 – 450 – 500 = 300
Number of athletes sent in Event-Y = 450
Number of athletes sent in Event-Z = 500
Total athletes sent = 1,250
Amount spent by Country-A in Event-X = 8,000 × 720 = Rs. 57,60,000
Amount spent by Country-C in Event-Z = 8,800 × 500 = Rs. 44,00,000
Difference = 57,60,000 – 44,00,000 = Rs. 13,60,000
