Understanding the Employee Distribution
The organisation has a total of 2400 employees, with a male to female ratio of 5:3.
  • Total Males: (5/8) * 2400 = 1500
  • Total Females: (3/8) * 2400 = 900

Department-wise Distribution of Males and Females
1. HR Department:
- 12% of males work here:
  • Males in HR: 0.12 * 1500 = 180
  • Females in HR: Using the ratio 6:11, we find:
  • Total in HR = 180 + (11/6)*180 = 330 (Females = 330 - 180 = 150)

2. Accounts Department:
- 24% of females work here:
  • Females in Accounts: 0.24 * 900 = 216
  • Males in Accounts: Remaining males = 1500 - (Males in HR + Males in Production + Males in IT + Males in Marketing)

3. IT Department:
- Total employees = 285, of which 1/9 are females:
  • Females in IT: 285/9 = 31.67 ≈ 32 (rounded)
  • Males in IT: 285 - 32 = 253

4. Production Department:
- 42% of males work here:
  • Males in Production: 0.42 * 1500 = 630
  • Females in Production: 10% of males = 0.10 * 630 = 63

5. Marketing Department:
- Remaining females work here:
  • Remaining Females: 900 - (Females in HR + Females in Accounts + Females in IT + Females in Production) = 900 - (150 + 216 + 32 + 63) = 439

Percentage Calculation
- Total Females in the Organisation: 900
- Females in Production: 63
Percentage of Females in Production:
  • Calculation: (63 / 900) * 100 = 7%

Thus, the number of females working in the Production department forms 7% of the total number of females in the organisation.

(2400 employees)
Number of Males → 1500
Number of Females → 900
12% of males are in HR department.
Males in Production department = 42/100 x 1500 = 630
Males in Marketing department = 22/100 x 1500 = 330
Number of females in the Production department = 63
Required percentage = 63/900 x 100 = 7%
