Will a single year of current affairs preparation be enough for the UP...
Current Affairs in UPSC CSE syllabus unfortunately doesn’t mean current affairs of only past one year. There can be instances when current affairs questions from past few years pop up in examination. If you follow the current affairs of past one year holistically, it is more than enough to solve 90% of the questions. The key word here is holistically. If you follow the current affairs holistically without any gap, you will encounter all the schemes and important events at least 10–15 times in a year. And there are very high chances that these schemes, events and their details will embed deeply in your mind even if you don’t want to cram them. Just read them carefully and analyze them. If you don’t know any word or phrase or scheme or place mentioned in news, google it and know about it from reliable sources. This is the holistic way of learning which I have mentioned again and again. Slowly you would build a vast repository of knowledge and all you have to do is to follow up with a good revision schedule. Some tips to help you: 1) Make sure to read newspaper daily and make proper notes so that it become easy for revision.2) Keep a separate notebook for international relations as well as for economics portion. 3) Current Affairs should not be pushed to the last minute before the exam. Allot time every month for the previous months Current Affairs Revision . 4) Understanding the relevance of Current Affairs for Prelims and Mains: Past question papers and mock tests are the best way to understand the relevance of your preparation.
