Given Information:
A has a certain number of chocolates.
A gives 80% of the chocolates he has to B.
The remaining chocolates are given to C.
The difference between the number of chocolates left with A and the number of chocolates with B is the question.

Solution:

Step 1: Calculate the number of chocolates A gave to B
If A gave 80% of his chocolates to B, then A is left with 20% of his chocolates.
Let's say A initially had x chocolates.
Therefore, A gave 0.8x chocolates to B and kept 0.2x chocolates for himself.

Step 2: Calculate the number of chocolates C received
As A gave 80% of his chocolates to B, he gave 20% of his chocolates to C.
Therefore, C received 0.2x chocolates.

Step 3: Calculate the difference between the number of chocolates A has and B has
The number of chocolates B has = 0.8x
The number of chocolates A has = 0.2x
The difference = 0.8x - 0.2x = 0.6x

Step 4: Find the total number of chocolates A had initially
The difference between the chocolates A has and B has is 0.6x.
Given that this difference is the total number of chocolates A had initially.
Therefore, A initially had 0.6x chocolates.
Therefore, the total number of chocolates A had initially is 0.6x.
