Excess-3 Code: It is a binary code which is obtained by adding 3 to the decimal equivalent of a given decimal digit. For example, the excess-3 code for decimal digit 2 is (0010 + 0011) = 0101.

BCD Code: It is a binary code in which each decimal digit is represented by a 4-bit binary code. For example, the BCD code for decimal digit 2 is 0010.

Conversion of Excess-3 Code to BCD Code:

The conversion of Excess-3 code to BCD code can be achieved by using a 4x16 De-MUX. The 4x16 De-MUX has 4 input lines and 16 output lines.

The 4 input lines of the De-MUX are connected to the Excess-3 code input lines. The 16 output lines of the De-MUX are connected to the BCD code output lines.
