Ratio of Expenditure and Savings:
- Let the person's expenditure be 4x and savings be x.
- So, the total income will be 4x + x = 5x.

Increase in Savings:
- If his savings are increased by 25% of his income, then new savings will be x + 0.25(5x) = x + 1.25x = 2.25x.

New Ratio of Expenditure and Savings:
- The new ratio of expenditure and savings will be 4x : 2.25x = 16 : 9.
Therefore, the new ratio of his expenditure and savings is 16 : 9.
