Calculation of Profit or Loss Percentage
1. Given Information:
- Manoj sells one item at 16% profit and another item at 6% loss.
- Purchase price of each item is Rs. 600.
2. Calculation of Selling Price:
- For the item sold at 16% profit:
- Selling Price = Cost Price + Profit
- Selling Price = Rs. 600 + 16% of Rs. 600
- Selling Price = Rs. 600 + Rs. 96 = Rs. 696
- For the item sold at 6% loss:
- Selling Price = Cost Price - Loss
- Selling Price = Rs. 600 - 6% of Rs. 600
- Selling Price = Rs. 600 - Rs. 36 = Rs. 564
3. Calculation of Total Cost and Total Selling Price:
- Total Cost Price = 2 * Rs. 600 = Rs. 1200
- Total Selling Price = Rs. 696 + Rs. 564 = Rs. 1260
4. Calculation of Profit or Loss:
- Profit = Total Selling Price - Total Cost Price
- Profit = Rs. 1260 - Rs. 1200 = Rs. 60
5. Calculation of Profit Percentage:
- Profit Percentage = (Profit / Total Cost Price) * 100
- Profit Percentage = (60 / 1200) * 100
- Profit Percentage = 5%
Therefore, Manoj's profit percentage is 5%.
