Q. In a queue of children, Kirti is fifth from the left and Mansi is s...
Given information:
- Kirti is fifth from the left.
- Mansi is sixth from the right.
- After interchanging their places, Kirti becomes thirteenth from the left.

To find: Mansi’s position from the right after interchanging their places.

Solution:
Let’s assume that there are ‘n’ children in the queue.

- Initially, Kirti is fifth from the left. Therefore, there are (5-1) = 4 children to her left.
- Mansi is sixth from the right. Therefore, there are (6-1) = 5 children to her right.
- After interchanging their places, Kirti becomes thirteenth from the left. Therefore, there are (13-1) = 12 children to her left.
- Let’s assume that after interchanging their positions, Mansi is at ‘x’ position from the right.
- Total number of children in the queue = n
- Therefore, from the given information, we can say that
- Kirti is at position (n-4) before interchanging their places.
- Mansi is at position (n-5) before interchanging their places.
- Kirti is at position (n-12) after interchanging their places.
- Mansi is at position (n-x) after interchanging their places.

- From the above information, we can form two equations:
- n-4 = 13 => n = 17 (as Kirti is thirteenth from the left after interchanging their places)
- n-5 = x

- Solving the above equations, we get:
- n = 17
- n-5 = x
- x = 12

Therefore, Mansi’s position from the right after interchanging their places = x = 12.

Hence, option (c) 14th is the correct answer.
