Bansi bought two mixtures of rice and hay. He bought a certain quantit...
Let there be 4x kg of the first mixture and 11y kg of the second mixture.
There is 3x kg of rice in the first mixture 6y kg of rice in the second mixture.
Similarly, there is x kg of hay in the first mixture and 5y kg of hay in the second mixture.
The final mixture has 126 * 4/7 = 72 kg of rice and 54 kg of hay.
    3x + 6 y = 7 2 ...(i)
    and
    x + 5y = 54 ...(ii)
    Solving (i) and (ii) simultaneously,
    x = 4
    The amount o f the first mixture = 4 x 4 = 16 kg
The cost of the first mixture is 16 x 40 = Rs. 640

Bansi bought two mixtures of rice and hay. He bought a certain quantit...
    Given information:
    - Bansi bought two mixtures of rice and hay.
    - The first mixture was bought at the rate of Rs. 40 per kg and the ratio of rice and hay in the mixture was 3:1.
    - The second mixture was bought at the rate of Rs. 30 per kg and the ratio of rice and hay in that mixture was 6:5.
    - Mixing these two mixtures, Bansi obtained a new mixture weighing 126 kg with a rice to hay ratio of 4:3.

    Objective:
To find the cost of the first mixture used in the third mixture.

    Assumptions:
Let the amount of the first mixture bought by Bansi be x kg.
Let the amount of the second mixture bought by Bansi be y kg.

    Approach:
To solve the problem, we need to follow the following steps:
    1. Set up equations based on the given information.
    2. Solve the equations to find the values of x and y.
    3. Calculate the cost of the first mixture used in the third mixture.

    Solution:
    1. Equations:
    - The first mixture:
    - Cost of rice = 3/4 * 40 * x
    - Cost of hay = 1/4 * 40 * x
    - The second mixture:
    - Cost of rice = 6/11 * 30 * y
    - Cost of hay = 5/11 * 30 * y
    - The third mixture:
    - Weight = 126 kg
    - Rice to hay ratio = 4:3

    2. Solving equations:
    - Rice in the third mixture = 4/(4+3) * 126 = 72 kg (Let's call this rice3)
    - Hay in the third mixture = 3/(4+3) * 126 = 54 kg (Let's call this hay3)

    - The rice in the third mixture is a combination of rice from the first and second mixtures.
    - Rice from the first mixture = 3/4 * x
    - Rice from the second mixture = 6/11 * y
    - Equating the rice quantities:
    - 3/4 * x + 6/11 * y = 72 (Equation 1)

    - The hay in the third mixture is a combination of hay from the first and second mixtures.
    - Hay from the first mixture = 1/4 * x
    - Hay from the second mixture = 5/11 * y
    - Equating the hay quantities:
    - 1/4 * x + 5/11 * y = 54 (Equation 2)

    - Solving equations 1 and 2 simultaneously will give the values of x and y.

    3. Calculating the cost of the first mixture used in the third mixture:
    - Cost of the first mixture used = Cost of rice from the first mixture + Cost of hay from the first mixture
    = (3/4 * 40 * x) + (1/4 * 40 * x)
    = (3/4 + 1/4) * 40 * x
    = 40 * x

    Final answer:
The cost of the first mixture used in the third mixture is 40 * x, where x is
